As They Speak: Native Voices in Today’s Literature – Virtual Book Club

July 28, 2021 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

Looking to expand your reading list and discuss a variety of issues and topics important to Native people? Please join our digital book club, As They Speak: Native Voices in Today’s Literature. Based on a variety of topics and featuring a range of genres, all of the books we will be reading have been written by contemporary Native authors. This month, we have invited Karin Nobile, to cohost this event with us. Karin is the Associate Program Director at Mercy by the Sea, and helps to develop programing in areas of spirituality, creative expression, ecology, health and wellness. We will be reading and discussing “Native: Identity, Belonging, and Rediscovering God,” written by Kaitlin B. Curtice. As both a citizen of the Potawatomi Nation and a Christian, Kaitlin Curtis offers a unique perspective on how reconnecting with her Potawatomi identity both informs and challenges her faith. Join the virtual conversation hosted by IAIS Staff on ZOOM.

In order to have a more intimate conversation, space is limited. Please visit our website (www.iaismuseum.org) to register through Eventbrite. This is a FREE event, but donations are appreciated.
