Super Summer Fun: A Family Camp Experience

August 22 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Saturday, August 22
1:00PM – 4:00PM

Looking for one more day of summer fun before the school year starts? Want a taste of what our summer camp has to offer as you plan for next year?  Are you young at heart, but a bit too old for our actual summer camp? Join experienced educators from the Institute for American Indian Studies for an afternoon of activities focused on the lifeways and lessons of Native peoples. Participants will complete group dynamic activities, embark on a cultural history walk, learn about Indigenous uses of plants and animals, and practice traditional skills before enjoying a tasty treat in our replicated Algonkian Village.

Please note: Unless there is severe inclement weather, this program will be held rain or shine. Participants should be prepared for outdoor activities, but portions of the program may shift inside. Participants are encouraged to apply bug spray and sunscreen and should also bring a water bottle.

This program is intended for all learners ages 4 and up. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Space is limited so pre-registration is requested. Please visit our website to register online. Questions? Please email events@iaismuseum.org or call (860) 868-0518. Price of Participation: $60/person for Members, $80/person for Non-Members.
