Three Sisters’ Seed Starting Workshop: Planting The Seeds For New Growth

April 19 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Saturday, April 19
1PM – 3PM

For generations, many Indigenous communities in the Americas have practiced a companion planting method known as the three sisters, using the combined strength of corn, beans, and squash to produce healthy gardens. Join IAIS Staff for a workshop and celebration of the renewal of life that accompanies spring after a cold, hard winter. Learn about traditional companion planting methods and seed saving efforts in Native communities, as you reconnect with the land and help start the germination process for a Three Sisters’ Garden. Together, let’s plant the seeds for new growth as we look towards the opportunities and challenges of the coming months.

Space is limited and pre-registration is requested. Please visit our website to register online. Questions? Please email [email protected] or call (860) 868-0518. Price of participation: $5 for IAIS Members, $15 for Non-Members.
