  • Gift shop admission is always free

We are a Blue Star Museum! U.S. military personnel and their families enjoy free admission.

Groups of 15 or more people must contact the Education Department due to space limitations during regular tour hours. Please email [email protected]

    Flash Photography

    Due to the sensitive nature of many of the artifacts in our collection, flash photography is strictly prohibited within the museum building. Visitors are welcome to take photographs, but flash must be turned off while inside.

    Eating Facilities

    IAIS does not have a cafeteria or indoor eating facilities. There is a picnic area with tables in front of the museum which visitors are welcome to use. There also are numerous restaurants in the area. More on nearby restaurants and other attractions.

    Please note that there are areas near IAIS that have limited cell and GPS reception. The museum can be reached at 860-868-0518 for questions regarding exact directions.

    From Danbury, CT & New York from the West
    • Take I-84 East to Exit 15.
    • Turn left towards Roxbury on Route 67.
    • At 4th light Route 67 turns left.
    • Follow Route 67 through Roxbury to Route 199.
    • Turn right on to Route 199.
    • Go 3 miles and turn left on to Curtis Road.
    From Hartford, Waterbury & Connecticut from the East
    • Take I-84 West to Exit 15.
    • Turn right towards Roxbury on Route 67.
    • At 3rd light Route 67 turns left.
    • Follow Route 67 thru Roxbury to Route 199.
    • Turn right on to Route 199.
    • Go 3 miles and turn left on to Curtis Road.
    From Western Connecticut
    • Take Route 7 to New Milford and Route 67.
    • Take Route 67 towards Roxbury.
    • Turn left on to Route 199.
    • Go 3 miles and turn left on to Curtis Road.
    From Washington Depot, CT
    • Take Route 47 South past Washington Green approximately 1.5 miles.
    • Take a right on Route 199.
    • Turn right on to Curtis Road.
