Bark Basket Workshop with Jennifer Lee

June 24 @ 10:00 am - 4:00 pm

Event Navigation

During traditional times in the Eastern Woodlands, bark served many purposes: it could be used to cover a wigwam, tie tools together, and float a canoe. It could even be used to make beautiful, practical baskets out of. In modern time, Native American artists and culture bearers help to keep such traditions alive. Join Jennifer Lee, of Algonkian Heritage, will guide participants in making a traditional bark basket, using elm, ash or birch bark, spruce root and willow. Choose a basket size (small, medium, or large) as well as a type of bark and enjoy!

Space is limited - Registration Required. Call (860) 868-0518 or email [email protected] to reserve your spot.

Prices: $45 - $80, depending on basket selected. Partial pre-payment required.
