Earth Day Open House

A photograph of Sitting Bull's shirt and the Albert Afraid of Hawk quilt as displayed in IAIS's exhibit.Join us for a leisurely day in the woods, enjoy free museum admission and engaging tours from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. with our knowledgeable docents. Hear the fascinating stories of artifacts such as Sitting Bull’s jacket and the Albert Afraid of Hawk star quilt, both located in our new exhibit, We Are Still Here: Communities, Social Change & Cultural Endurance. Learn Connecticut’s history in our core exhibition Quinnetukut: Our Homeland, Our Story and explore Pueblo potter Helen Cordero’s legacy with Stories in Clay. Our docents and curation staff will be offering tours, answering questions and providing insight into our exhibits. Take a tour, amble along our nature trails and engage with staff this Earth Day as we celebrate the complex stories that took place on this planet we all call home.
