Getting To The Point: Beginner Flintknapping Workshop

Looking for a workshop that will rock your world? Join IAIS Educator and Head of Fabrication Griffin Kalin, who has a background in traditional skills and experimental archaeology, as you learn percussion and pressure flaking techniques and try your hand at turning a rock into a useful stone tool. Spend an afternoon learning about traditional methods for stone tool manufacture, practicing the basics of the art and science known as flintknapping, and sharpening your skills as you work on making your very own point.

Please note: This workshop requires patience and results in a potentially sharp object. As such, it is recommended for participants ages 12 and up. Participants under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
