Do you want to know how to identify which creatures have been visiting your neck of the woods, and how recently? For thousands of years, the indigenous inhabitants of the Eastern Woodlands would have needed to know how to do so to survive. Join IAIS Educator and Ecologist Susan Scherf for a winter walk through the woodland environment and practice looking for, listening to – and maybe even knowing how to smell – evidence of animal life. Have a little bit of extra time? After the walk, stick around and wood burn a wood cookie to resemble the track of a woodland animal.
Please note: As most of this program will be outside, participants should dress appropriately for the weather, including proper footwear for a short hike.
Space is limited. Pre-registration is requested.
$15 for Non-Members, $5 for IAIS Members. Extra $5 for wood cookie paw print.
