Sunday Fun Day – Gifts of the Maple: A Sweet Treat

February 11 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Sunday Fun Day – Gifts of the Maple: A Sweet Treat
Sunday, February 11th
1:00PM – 3:00PM

The IAIS Education Department frequently offers family-friendly educational workshops on Sunday afternoons.  This year, many of our Sunday Fun Day workshops feature the teachings of trees and the power of plants, which indigenous communities have been carefully stewarding for thousands of years. For this month’s workshop, we’re focusing on one of nature’s sweetest gifts: the maple tree. Join an IAIS Museum Educator for a program in which participants will learn all about the adaptations of this deciduous tree while making a maple-themed craft. Along the way, you’ll have the opportunity to try some tasty treats provided by the sugar maple tree.  Express your creativity while learning about the world around you and connecting with a culture that has thousands of years of history in this area.

Space is limited and pre-registration is required. Please visit our website to register online. Questions? Email [email protected] or call (860) 868-0518. Price of participation including materials: $20 for Non-Members, $10 for IAIS Members.
