The Barkhamsted Lighthouse Book Talk with Dr. Ken Feder

October 29, 2023 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Sunday, October 29
1:00 PM – 4:00 PM

Deep in the woods of Barkhamsted, Connecticut archaeologist Ken Feder found a series of irregular cellar holes that led to an archaeological and genealogical investigation   into what had come to be known as the legend of the Barkhamsted Lighthouse. In the mid-1700s, Molly and James Chaugham, the latter of whom was a Narragansett Indian from Block Island, started a family and created a community that became a magnet for other outcasts including Native Americans, as well as people of African and European descent. Join Dr. Ken Feder, professor emeritus in Anthropology at Central Connecticut State University for an in-person presentation and discussion of his newly published book The Barkhamsted Lighthouse: The Archaeology of the Lighthouse Family (Rowman and Littlefield, 2023).

Attendees will receive a discount code for a hardcover or eBook copy.
