Veteren’s Day Celebration: Past, Present, and Future

November 10, 2019 @ 12:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Did you know that Native Americans have served in the United States military with the highest record of service per capita when compared to any other ethnic group? Each year IAIS honors local Native Americans who have served. This year, our ceremony will recognize Golden Hill Paugussett community members who represent past, present and future veterans. Our honorees include Chief Aurelius Piper Sr., deceased, who served during World War II; Gary Tinney, who served in Germany, England, Korea and State side; and the sons of Clan-mother Shoran Piper, Jeremy Cole and Nikita Kuznetsov, who are currently serving in the military.  Join us for a ceremony to honor and remember these and all veterans, Native and Non-Native, who have served our country. Following a traditional ceremony in our outdoor village, participants and visitors are invited to a light lunch in the museum.

This event is free and open to the public
