Corn is an integral part of the annual life cycle of Native American people. When the first tender ears are ripe for picking it is cause for celebration. Welcome the first corn of the season with exciting activities including drumming, dancing, children’s activities, flute music by Allan Madahbee (Ojibwe), vendors, stories and more!
We are pleased to welcome the Native Nations Dance Troupe led by Erin Meeches, (Schaghticoke Tribal Nation), as well as the Quahog Bay Drum Group led by Devin Wixon (Mashpee Wampanoag). While enjoying the dancing and activities, get some refreshments from featured food vendors, including Yapopup (Indigenous Soul Food by Pueblo chef Ryan Rainbird Taylor), GV Bites Food Truck (Colombian Fusion), and Polar Sweets Ice Cream (More than 40 flavors!).
