International Archaeology Day Celebration

October 17, 2020

International Archaeology Day

Ongoing throughout the day, dig into the fun with IAIS Staff and uncover what makes archaeology such a fascinating field of study. Archaeology is the study of objects that people leave behind and helps those in the present figure out what life was like in societies and cultures of the past, participate in educational activities and connect with cultural items as we join with cultural institutions around the world in celebrating this exciting science on International Archaeology Day.

Join the conversation on social media, follow Archaeological Institute of America (AIA ) on Twitter @archaeology_aia and @ArcaheologyDay – #IAD2020

Artifact I.D. Day

Do you have any stone artifacts or Northeastern Native American cultural items?

Between 1:00 and 3:00 p.m., sign up for a time slot with our Research Department staff for a special Artifact I.D. Day. While we can’t appraise or speculate about the value of an object, we can certainly talk about the who, what, when, where, and how of your mystery items! Please limit 12 artifacts per person.

Included in the price of admission: IAIS Members Free, $10 Adults, $8 Seniors, and $6 Children. Space is limited, please call (860) 868-0518 or email [email protected] to register.
