The courting flute is one of the oldest known instruments in the world. As the name suggests, a young man would play these flutes in courting rituals to serenade his intended. Ojibway artist and musician Allan Madahbee will teach participants basic songs and sounds while learning the history and process of how these handcrafted instruments are made. Replicated flutes are provided for use, as well as to take home. No musical background necessary! Limited space. Reservations Required.
Fee: $60; $50 IAIS Members.
